橋本駅はJR横浜線・JR相模線・京王相模原線の3路線が乗り入れる、相模原市内で最も利用者数の多い駅です。南口ではリニア中央新幹線の新駅建設も進められており、北口・南口それぞれに大型商業施設が集まる、相模原市北部の中心地です。Hashimoto is where JR Yokohama Line, JR Sagami Line, and Keio Sagamihara Line all meet — the busiest station in Sagamihara City. Construction is underway on the south side for a future Linear Chuo Shinkansen station, and large shopping complexes surround both the north and south exits.
